assessment

As a psychologist, Amy is trained to administer formal assessments to enhance understanding of her clients and increase their self-awareness.  Formal assessments accelerate insight into people and situations through a standardized, efficient, and extremely objective information-gathering process.  They are completed on-line or with paper and pencil by the client, scored and interpreted by computer, and applied in conjunction with Amy’s own expert evaluation. Results are used to help identify client strengths, tendencies, blind spots, and possible areas for improvement, and to establish coaching and training recommendations.  Out of the many assessment tools available, Amy finds the following – used in various combinations according to client goals — to be the most reliable for narrowing down routes to personal and professional development:

California Psychological Inventory (CPI):  Provides a complex and highly accurate portrait of an individual’s personal and professional personality styles. The CPI 260 focuses on strengths and opportunities for professional development, and the more comprehensive CPI 434 also covers possibilities for personal growth.

Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation – Behavior (FIRO-B): Helps people see how their various social needs can shape their interactions with others, particularly in the workplace.

The Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI): Helps individuals and organizations measure their competencies in five areas associated with exemplary leadership: model the way, inspire a shared vision, challenge the process, enable others to act, encourage the heart.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI): Assesses an individual’s personality type, with an emphasis on capacity in four areas crucial to professional success: communication, making decisions, managing change, managing conflict.
